W3AVE, Camping, and Tattoos

Hello, vast, ever expanding internet!

Here's the news:
This past Thursday (which would make that the first thursday of the month, as in, First Thursday Pioneer Square Art Walk) I painted, in collaboration with Amy Huddleston and Ego, as a part of the W3AVE project. See Amy's art at www.amyhuddleston.com and Ego's at www.lordego1.deviantart.com.
Here's how it worked: There were several teams of 3 artists participating in the event. Each artist began a painting on their own. We then met up at Axis Gallery (www.axispioneersquare.com), to complete our pieces together. Each group of 3 had a work area. We passed our paintings around and spent an hour on each one, while people exploring First Thursday Art Walk walked between our work areas and observed the painting process. The completed pieces will be on exhibition at Bherd Gallery (www.bherdstudios.com), in Greenwood, this coming friday (which would make that the second friday of the month, as in, Second Friday Greenwood/Phinney Art Walk). You should go check it out!!!
Here are some pictures of our finished pieces
This is the one I started.

This is the one Amy started.

And this is the one Ego started.

Each of our paintings will be selling for $300. Please contact Bherd, if you're interested.

For those of you who did not know, FFOMT recently closed the shop so we could all go on a camping trip to Baker Lake. Here is a highlight picture:

And lastly, here is a picture of a tattoo I made today:
Thanks, Emily!

Seattle Tattoo Expo Weekend

Greetings, friends!
Welcome to the weekend of the Seattle Tattoo Expo!

I just thought I'd make a new blog post to commemorate this momentous occasion.
Here's some pictures of what I've been up to recently. Sorry it has been so long since my last blog post.

Thanks SO MUCH to all my wonderful clients. You guys make the dream come true!

I hope to see all of you at the convention this weekend. I have a little bit of time left, if you're interested in getting tattooed at the expo, hit me up. I would love to tattoo this native american girl head I painted the other day:

It's approximately 6"x9". If you want to get it exactly the way it is and not on your ribs, I'm offering to do it at the convention for $300. Let me know if you're interested!

Thanks for reading and looking at my pictures! xoxo - Megon

The Big May Art Walk!!!

Hi Everyone!

The main purpose of this blog post is to inform you all of the Big Art Walk starting this Friday. You all know about the Greenwood/Phinney Art Walk that goes down the second Friday of every month. But this is the big one! The whole neighborhood is going all out for this one and it lasts all weekend.
The Fist Full of Metal family will be putting on an art show at the shop. Themed snakes, skulls, and roses. Duh. I know we're a little predictable, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
So here's a little sneak preview, a painting by Khalil. Don't miss it! See you this weekend!

In tattoo news, today I started a half sleeve on Luna that I'm really excited about. Here's a pieced together picture of the line work:
Here's one of my designs from the May $80 flash sheet:
And here are a couple other recently done fun tattoos. Thanks to Kate and Jenn for getting these ones!

So anyway, thanks for reading what I wrote and for looking at my pictures. Hope to see all of you tomorrow, or Saturday, or Sunday for Art Walk!!! xoxo - Megon

Hey What's Up?!

Hey everybody!
I'm trying to get back into the swing of blogging. So here's the second update in less than a month! WOW!

I realized that I never posted anything about this when it happened, but I recently was part of a group show at B-herd and Home Suit Home Galleries in Greenwood called "Telephone". It was really fun. Ego, Sam Solace, John Osgood, Siolo Thompson, and Joe Vollan were a few of the artists artists who made art for the show. The way it worked was; one artist created a piece of artwork and then sent an anonymous picture of it to the next artist in the order, who then created their own version of the art and then they sent a picture of their piece to the next person and so on and so on.
I figured even though the show is over, it'd be nice for all of you who couldn't make it to see a glimpse of what I created for the show. So here's a little sampling of the pieces:
The painting of the girl in the top left corner sold, but the other three and still available. Let me know if you're interested.
Stay tuned, I hope to participate in more art shows at B-herd Gallery in the future.

TATTOOS:
I have been so fortunate recently to get to work on projects I'm really excited about!
Alex just started helping out at Fist Full of Metal on the weekends and she got this grumpy cat tattoo from me!!! Seriously?!?! I love grumpy cat! For those of you who are not familiar, here's a picture of the real grumpy cat. Whose name is Tartar.

Also, don't forget that we do a monthly flash special at Fist Full of Metal!
We make a sheet of flash with design to choose from and each one is only $80!
Here's a version I did of a design made by Chris Adams for the month of April:
So keep checking in to see what we come up with for May!

"True Devotion is Unwavering" An Update

Here's a little glimpse of what I've been really excited about working on recently: The first picture is piece that Kayla got, based on a painting by Heather Gabel (www.heathergabel.com). Really really fun, I'd love to get to tattoo more images of ladies. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Second is Bridget's half sleeve of box turtle skulls and purple poppies. You can't go wrong with skulls and flowers! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And finally, thanks to Corey for trusting me with this ambitious project! Should be lots of fun, I can't wait to start shading and cover up all that garbage! ------------------------------------- I have been so lucky recently to be busy and working on projects that I really enjoy. Thanks to all my clients. You're the best! And thanks to everyone spreading the word and recommending people get tattooed by me!
